It’s a regular poker game, it’s supposed to be a friendly game, but this week the stakes are high and winning has its price. In a night of psychological violence and bluff, six men stay up late and bust each other out.

Samuel West (who recently stepped down as artistic director of the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield) returns to London to direct the first major London revival of Patrick Marber’s debut play DEALER’S CHOICE. Samuel has also directed The Romans in Britain (Crucible), Three Women and a Piano Tuner (Hampstead) and Cosi Fan Tutte (ENO, Barbican). He is also one of the country’s leading actors and most recently appeared in Betrayal by Harold Pinter at the Donmar.

DEALER’S CHOICE premiered at the National Theatre in February 1995. It received the 1995 Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy and the Writer’s Guild Award for Best West End Play. Patrick Marber is also known for Closer, for which he wrote the stage play and later the screenplay, starring Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman, Clive Owen and Jude Law. The film received two Golden Globe awards and two Academy Award nominations. Patrick also wrote the screenplay for the hugely successful film Notes On A Scandal, starring Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett. The film received numerous award nominations including an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay.

An extraordinary cast includes: Samuel Barnett (The History Boys; Mrs Henderson Presents) as Carl; Ross Boatman (Frankie in the original West End production, also 8 series of London’s Burning) as Sweeney; Roger Lloyd Pack (Only Fools and Horses; The Vicar of Dibley; Harry Potter) as Ash; Jay Simpson (Foyle’s War; Primeval; Rome) as Frankie; Malcolm Sinclair (The History Boys; V for Vendetta; Casino Royale) as Stephen and Stephen Wight (Don Juan in Soho) as Mugsy.

PATRICK KIELTY in A NIGHT IN NOVEMBER
The hit comedy by Marie Jones, writer of Stones in His Pockets

A SERIOUSLY FUNNY SHOW - Sunday Times

When Kenneth McCallister reluctantly finds himself on the terraces for a crucial Northern Ireland v Republic of Ireland football match, little does he know that his humdrum life is about to change forever.

Join him on his hilarious journey as he leaves Belfast, crosses the border for the first time in his life and boards a flight into the unknown. Arriving in New York for the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifying match he finds acceptance, friendship (and a great deal of alcohol). Suddenly he realises what it truly means to be Irish.

Trafalgar Studios is delighted to host award-winning Irish comedian PATRICK KIELTY as he takes to the stage playing a multitude of different characters in this uproarious new production from MARIE JONES, author of the much loved comedy Stones in His Pockets.
